
A. Background The Leytonstone area is undergoing unprecedented change and will be facing a host of opportunities over the near and long term future. Businesses will see temporary as well as permanent changes. The Forum will initially be led by significant businesses in the Leytonstone area. Whilst changes may affect individual businesses in different ways, the Forum will act for the greater good of the area for business as a whole, which will have a knock-on effect for every business. Individual business issues such as relocation will not be discussed in the main body of the meeting, though those that wish can discuss informally after the meeting. B. Aims & Objectives • To be a strong influential voice that can push for improvements in Leytonstone • To bring to light any issues • To generate ideas for the improvement of the area • To ensure environmental improvement and sustainability for the area in the long-term • To take advantage of opportunities coming up, both locally and in the wider context of the Olympics • Provide a mechanism for feedback of business perspectives to the Waltham Forest Business Board • To update one another of changes • To work with the Council and the business community to ascertain how best to market Leytonstone, as a destination with the objective of increasing foothold. • To work with, and feed into the E11 Bid Company monitoring the delivery at projects by the Bid Company. C. Meeting These Aims The Forum will meet its aims in the following way: • Convene regular meetings • Build up a broad-based membership from the business community • Establish appropriate channels of communications to promote and foster greater understanding and collaborations D. Frequency of Meetings The Forums shall meet every 3 months at a minimum. A new Chair will be elected every two years. Two weeks notice will be given in writing to all members.
