Leytonstone Business Forum
Terms of Reference
Aims and Objectives
To bring together stakeholders including businesses, the Local Authority, police and other interested in supporting Leytonstone Town Centre to establish a Town Centre Business Forum for Leytonstone. The Forum will work in partnership with the aim of achieving a thriving and vibrant economy in a safe environment. It will do this by the following:
- Develop a strategy to attract more customers
- Provide a platform for businesses to network and provide support to each other.
- Discover and promote a shared vision for the Town Centre from a business perspective.
- Act as a collective voice in discussions with the Council and other agencies such as police.
- A platform for tackling issues and taking actions
- Provide opportunities to maximise benefits from business support initiatives available through the Regional and Central Government bodies.
- To act as a key consultative body on major development proposals effecting the town centre.
- To work with the Town Centre Manager to deliver a Town Centre business plan.
- To ensure that the principles of Equal Opportunities are addressed in the activities of the Management Board.
Meeting these Aims
The Steering Group will meet its aims in the following way:
- Initially convene monthly meetings
- Build up a broad-based membership from the business community
- Establish appropriate channels of communications to promote and foster greater understanding and collaborations.
Frequency of Meetings
The Steering Group shall meet monthly for 6 months and then a General Meeting to elect a management board and the office bearers. Two weeks notice of the meeting shall be given in writing to all members.
